Character Development

Throughout the story, Doby changes from a dreaming young boy, to a young adult. In the begining of the story, he is thinking about the "dream" girl that he is going to meet and rescue or some type of thing like that. When he first realizes that there is a girl out there somewhere that is running from the gang, he dreams of rescueing her. That doesn't end up happening, and although he is dissappointed, he realizes it was for the better. By the end of the story, he realizes that he will eventually meet a girl and that he doesn't have to dream about it anymore, in time he'll meet someone.
