Third Post 100-150 pg

When Owen and the old man got up the next morning, they went down and found Marny. While they were there, they ended up shooting three of the four men that were trying to get her. While this was going on, the rest of the Mowatt Gang went over to the Kernohans cabin. When Doby looked up and seen them coming, he yelled to his father, and luckily he had already thought ahead in case something like this happened. Pa went into the house and grabbed some necesities, while Doby shied the livestock into the open meadow at a dead run. They got on their horses, and headed straight towards Lost Canyon, where they could keep the cattle out of trouble. The gang set the house on fire, but luckily it didn't burn the whole thing down. Doby and Pa went back and took some shots at some of the guys, then went back to the canyon, but Pa had gotten shot in the shoulder. Owen, Marny, and the old man came to the canyon too, and they needed to come up with a plan. Owen left out on his own, and went into the Mowatt gang's camp in the middle of the night. He talked to Mac, the leader, and couldn't talk him out of leaving, so that meant war. On his way back to the canyon, he stopped by the house, and grabbed some books. Then, Owen Chantry thought he might know where the treasure was hidden.
